(4.27) This Saturday evening the Lovecraft Arts & Sciences Council in the Arcade will host musician Alec K. Redfearn and poet Jason O’Toole in Poetry, Magick, and Modular Synth, a unique spoken word/music performance. Cake is a possibility. (Facebook event.)
Two original voices of the underground music and arts scene come together with spoken word and modular synth to forge a hard primitive electronic soundscape.
Alec is best known as the leader of The Eyesores and Jason is the author of Spear of Stars, a collection of poetry published by The Red Salon last year & erstwhile, the singer of Life’s Blood.
Mr. O’Toole adds,
Three fer-real poets. I’ve got Alec courtesy of Cuneiform Records patching devious sounds together. Maybe I’ll raffle off a cake. I might. People like cake. I like pie better myself but cake is fun.
6:30pm to 8:30pm, Saturday, April 27, Arcade Providence, 65 Weybosset Street, (directions)
There WILL be cake next time. No cake, but we did a ritual which raised everyone’s credit scores ten points though. Maybe not immediate results – check again in a month or three. I hope to return with Alec to share my 2nd collection of poems Soulless Heavens (cheery title, I know) and the dreamy controlled chaos of Alec’s very expensive, suspicious and possibly *Russian* machines.
