(5.23) Head over to Maria’s Cucina (Italo-American Club) on Broadway this Thursday for a protest of the Senate decision not to let the Reproductive Health Care bill out of committee. Apparently Senate leadership is feeling pretty pleased with itself and has decided to celebrate. (Facebook event.)
Senate President Dominick Ruggerio, Senate Majority Leader Michael McCaffrey and Senate Majority Whip Maryellen Goodwin are hosting an event Thursday, May 23 in honor of the Senate Democrats. We are going to be there to protest and push them to let the bill come up for a vote on the full Senate floor this year. We don’t need parties from our leaders. We need action. And we need the Senate President to live up to his commitment to give it a vote. Join us. Don’t just be angry. Get active.
Parking will be available at the Bell Street chapel. So grab your friends and family and bring your signs and let’s push them to LET IT OUT! Hosted by the Woman Project HQ. Get involved at #Repro4RI.
This really is not over. Read more at UpriseRI.
(Save the Date: Senator Archambault will also be hearing from us on May 28.)
6pm, Thursday, May 23, Maria’s Cucina, 477 Broadway, (directions)
