(10.19) The theme this year? The Odyssey, an epic and sometimes inaccurate exploration of ancient myths and legends. Join the Steel Yard this Saturday for Providence’s most badass and utterly unique Halloween party . . . the 14th Annual Halloween Iron Pour. (Facebook event.) Featuring:
~Live performative Iron Pour (if you don’t know yet what that is, you gotta check it out!)
~Live music & entertainers, including the Firefly Caravan LLC, Unkle Thirsty, and special guests tba
~Yardie Bar powered by our friends over at Revival Brewing Company
Here’s how organizers explain the Iron Pour to neophytes:
We’re transforming our entire hill into a theatrical display of fire and art. Our trained Pour crew will harness the power of our custom-built iron tilt-furnace to pour over 2,500 pounds of luminous, molten iron. Larger than life sculptures will be activated by fire and the molten metal. People return annually not only for the sparky performance and the numerous steel and iron props that we build in our own studio, but also for the phenomenal local music and food.
You had me at tilt-furnace.
Revival Brewing Company will be introducing Iron Pour Brew; be the first to indulge in this epic odyssey of flavor. Downeast Cider from High Spirits Liquors will also be available. Served to 21+ only. Bring your IDs, if you plan to get an adult beverage.
General Admission tickets are $15. Or, purchase a $75 Prime ticket, skip the line, and get a complimentary swag bag. Tickets will only be available at the door if they don’t sell out online. Go here to purchase your tickets now.
