The opening reception for the November Galleries at AS220 starts Saturday at 5pm. The exhibit will remain up through November 30.
Seen here is a detail from a piece by Scott Moran, which will remain on display 24/7 in the new Empire Street Gallery. Moran, who addresses issues of materialism and consumer culture, answered a few questions about his work via email: “This piece is on brick panel board straight from Trinity Reps dumpster . . . spray paint and chalk. (One day that chalk gonna fade away and all you’ll have left is broke.)” Elaborating on his process Moran added, “Mostly I paint on trash.”
