Sunday Birdwalks — Roger Williams Park

(1.5) Hey I can see my house from here (never gets old). The popular monthly birdwalks begin this Sunday at Roger Williams Park. (Facebook event.)

Join us as we brave the winter temps in search of some feathered friends. Some possible sightings include woodpeckers, chickadees, finches and hawks. We will pay special attention to the ponds where wintering waterfowl can provide unexpected species. Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy walking shoes.

Walks meet at the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium: $3 per person (includes museum admission)/free for museum members. Children must be ages 5 and older. Pets are not permitted. Pre-registration is preferred.

Birdwalks also scheduled for February 2nd and March 1st.

I think this photo shows a red-tailed hawk, but I could be wrong. Find out for sure this Sunday.

9am to 10:30am, Sunday, January 5, Museum of Natural History, 1000 Elmwood Avenue,  (directions)
