Adventures In STEM Week — Museum Natural History

Experiment, tinker, build, observe, problem solve, explore and create with fun, hands-on activities at the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium throughout February vacation week. Here’s a sample:

1pm and 2pm: Flight Adventures Fulldome Planetarium Show
Cost: $3.00 per person/includes museum admission. Children must be age 4 and older to see a planetarium show.
Discover the science of flight through the eyes of a young girl and her grandfather as they explore how birds, kites, planes and models fly. Learn about the history and future plans of flight and how NASA is discovering new and safer ways to travel with the help of future engineers and aviators – like YOU! The program is followed by a brief tour of the night sky, using the planetarium’s Zeiss star projector. (Family Audience)

1pm-3pm, Monday, February 17: Discover Density
(Monday, February 17, ONLY)
Cost: Free with museum admission
Do you know the difference between weight and density? Do you know why some things sink and some things float? Join our educators for a hands-on exploration of these concepts.

On Tuesday it’s archaeology. Science, technology, engineering and math are the focus during this vacation week.

Through February 21, Museum of Natural History, RWP, 1000 Elmwood Avenue, (directions)
