Learn more about safety improvements proposed to make our streets safer, more accessible, and easier to use for everyone, whether you are walking, riding a bicycle, or driving.
What’s proposed: Safety improvements along the Upper Dean Street/Raymond Street corridor between the Woonasquatucket River and Smith Street including crosswalk improvements and a two-way urban trail (including an off-road portion through Davis Park); safety improvements along Douglas Avenue including crosswalks and bike lanes.
6pm to 7:30pm, Tuesday, March 3, Brooklyn Coffee Tea Guest House, 209 Douglas Avenue, (directions)
So far the Great Streets improvements on Clifford St. have ripped the oil pan off one unsuspecting driver’s car … and caused another driver to take down a curbside tree… and provided a lot of laffs for pedestrians watching cars driving up the bike lanes. No worries: only one bike has been seen on these multi-thousand dollar “safety” measures in the couple months they’ve been in place.
