Dogs Are The Balm

The Waterman Street Dog Park has been hopping this week. I had no trouble keeping six feet away from the humans, but the dogs were another matter. I hope I did not violate any new contagion protocols. A few of the dogs invaded my personal protocols, nearly knocking me over. But that is part of the fun of the dog park; even if you just sit on a bench, the happy energy works wonders. I made it a point not to pat the dogs or their owners.

The routine for entering the park is very clearly posted — you never want a dog scampering through your legs and out to the street. There is a separate enclosure for the smaller dogs. The entrance is at the end of Waterman Street just before the Henderson Bridge. There is plenty of on-street parking.

Judging from the photos, the Bell Street dog park serves a large dog-loving community in the Broadway/West End neighborhood. It appears that the park can be accessed either from Bell Street or Ridge Street. We’ll have to visit some time.

The toy chest includes a lightly-used Frisbee.

Who’s a good dog?
