The Providence Public Library downtown is currently undergoing a $25 million renovation. The grand reopening had been scheduled for the end of March but a pandemic intervened and the state had to be put into an induced coma.
Happily we can have a sneak peek courtesy of ProJo reporter Madeleine List, with the talented Sandor Bodo taking pictures. The interior looks wonderful with new woods blending in with the old; modern open staircases; geometric carpeting — it just looks swell. (The main desk brings to mind the bridge on the Starship Enterprise . . . if Kirk had been into Danish modern.)
I hope they make a list of the wall paint so we aren’t constantly badgering Harry Adler and making him look at tiny pictures on our phones. (There is an orange here that, in the wrong hands, could have gone horribly wrong. And I love the Braga blue on the banisters.)
And check out the Lego model of the library. Well done everybody.
Hello Providence Daily Dose

Unfortunately without a subscription to the ProJo, we cannot see those photos of the PPL!
