Chomp Kitchen & Drinks Opens

We have a new entry in the Ives Street restaurant scene. Chomp Kitchen and Drinks will be opening their second location this Wednesday in the former Eagle Super Market. And they saved the sign. From the Facebook page:

Opening day is June 10th at 4pm and we will be offering take-out only for now with plans to offer more dining options and hours when we feel like it is safe for our team and guests. Can’t wait to see you!

(They have a picture of a brisket and mushroom sandwich on toasted croissant that looks so delicious.) This will be their second location; the first Chomp opened in 2013 down in Warren. Limited opening for now:

When I drove by in January and saw that work was being done on the building I jumped out of my car to take a picture of the Eagle Super Market sign. I assumed it would be coming down. How great that they are keeping it. (Looks like you have some bird nests tucked in there — be careful.)

4pm to 8pm, Wednesday through Saturday, Chomp, 117 Ives Street, (directions)

When the time is right there should be room for sidewalk seating and open windows. The Ives Street food scene is really hopping with Tallulah’s Taqueria, Aleppo Sweets, Noodles 102, PVDonut, Bee’s Thai Cuisine within a very few blocks. And no sooner had I decided to write it up when East Side Monthly did exactly that; check out What’s Cooking on Ives Street.
