Honor Breonna Taylor

(6.9) An outdoor celebration of the life of Breonna Taylor will take place at 6pm today near Eddy and Fountain Streets. This invitation comes from AS220:

Tonight at 6pm at 1 Eddy Street, near the Biltmore Hotel, all the murals on plywood from Westminster will be on view in a massive parking lot. We will gather at this outdoor exhibition to celebrate the lives of those who were stolen from us. There will be flowers for the public to lay at Breonna Taylor’s mural and Birthday cake to share as we recognize her 27th Birthday. There will be music, great energy and thoughtful social distancing. Wear something fashionable and pair it with a colorful mask! Dance in her honor and all of those that are no longer here.

See the work of Providence artists honoring the Black Lives Matter movement. I’m guessing that this installation will be up for little while, in case you can’t make it today. (The parking lot is owned by Cornish.)

Blick Art Materials and Adler’s have donated supplies for the effort.

The mural featured here is by Kendall Joseph and faces onto Fountain Street, as does the one below. More murals and artists at RI Monthly.

Please wear masks (see directive above — be creative) and practice social distancing.

6pm, Tuesday, June 9, 1 Eddy Street, (directions)
