PVDFest Launches Virtual Scavenger Hunt

While the real life PVDFest had to be “postponed” this year, organizers have hatched a plan for getting people downtown, out of their cars, so they can appreciate all those art installations: a virtual scavenger hunt. Starting August 3rd, “fun-seekers will have the opportunity to experience all things PVDFest through a virtual scavenger hunt!”

The premise is simple, find the locations, snap an image or video that clearly shows you at the location and share it on social media using the hashtag #PVDFestHunt and tag @pvdfest. Complete those easy steps and, viola, you’re automatically entered to win prize packages, which have been generously donated by community partners.

Prizes include Visa gift cards, tickets to the Roger Williams Park Zoo, and swag. The gold prize winner awins a 2-night stay at Hotel Providence and a 4-guest private PVDFest public art walking tour. While the artwork stays up through the fall, participation in the scavenger hunt runs to August 17. Winners will be announced on August 24.

On August 3rd the tasks for the scavenger hunt will be announced on PVDFest social media platforms. For details and rules go here. Obviously they want this to be safe.

Please obey all social distancing guidelines set forth by the City of Providence (wear a mask, no groups larger than 15 people).

Seen here is a detail of Dreamweave by Karin F. Giusti . . . somewhere downtown.
