Riverside Park Cleanup Earth Day

(4.22) Head over to Riverside Park in Olneyville this Thursday for an Earth Day cleanup event. Sponsored by the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council (WRWC):

We’ll be preparing the park for spring and summer visitors by spreading mulch and picking up litter. Let’s celebrate our planet by taking care of it as a community! Bring your own water bottle and snacks.

All necessary Covid protocols will be observed. Go here for more about the WRWC Clean Days initiative.

Here at WRWC, we like to get our hands dirty. Projects include planting, painting, building, invasive plant management, litter-sweeps, graffiti removal, spring weeding, mulch mobbing, in-water cleanups and more. Volunteers, working hand-in-hand with River Rangers, have been the driving force behind transforming the Greenway and its parks. In addition to doing good for the community, volunteers give their time and receive education on the history and culture of the Greenway.

The playground area at Riverside Park is now state-of-the-art. The fish ladder will also keep kids occupied. The bike path runs right through the park.

And don’t miss the Cannonball Safe.

(For kids on vacation: Fun with Fish, Friday, April 23.)

Free, 10am to 2pm, Thursday, April 22, Riverside Park, 65 Aleppo Street, (directions)
