Gansett Brewery Grand Opening

Narragansett Beer will be celebrating the grand opening of their new brewery and beer garden at India Point this weekend, with special treats starting Wednesday. The place has been up and running for a while now and it looks great. The spacious interior with central bar also features a separate mini-counter where serious hobbyists can stare at the brewing tanks and whatnot. Several overhead garage doors open to the wrap-around deck with its umbrella tables and cornhole sets. Patrons can even see a sliver of the bay over the park.

Wednesday, 4pm to 9pm: Blount Food Truck’s famous lobster rolls.

Thursday, 4pm to 9pm: Sour Slam, sour release party, multiple sours on draft.

Friday, noon to 9pm: National IPA Day, IPAs on draft, Hometown BBQ Truck. Isabella Kensignton performing.

Saturday, noon to 10pm: Grand Opening Party, Saugy Franks food truck, Sharks Come Cruisin performing.

I wrote about this charming brick building and the history of Tockwotton Street two years ago when the project was first announced. Not only have they retained the address but they have integrated the original building into the current, much larger facility. One side of that brick building was spruced up and serves an interior wall.

And plenty of parking.

Opening party, noon to 10pm, Saturday, August 7, Narragansett Brewing Company, 271 Tockwotton Street, (directions)

Josh expects to be working all weekend serving beer on tap. (Tip your servers generously!)
