(10.30) This year the night before Halloween falls on a Saturday and Rick Sunderland over at Dusk will be throwing one helluva party. In addition to a great lineup of bands, Burlesque ‘n’ Roll will include fire dancers, a costume contest, and burlesque dancers.
The bands: White Mice, The Hammer Party, Midnight Creeps, Gamma Rage, Video Shoppe, and more. Rob Duguay wrote up the whole deal in the ProJo:
Dan St. Jacques, frontman of The Hammer Party and co-organizer of the event, says the goal is to “re-establish Providence as the spookiest city south of Salem.”
“This Saturday night is going to hark back to the classic Halloween shows of Providence’s past that helped establish the Olneyville scene over 20 years ago,” he says, touting the burlesque performances by “a half dozen of some of the best and most creative women in the scene.”
The Hammer Party opened for Lightning Bolt that one time at the Trinity skate park downtown . . . good choice.
The bands and the fire dancers (Amanda Salemi and GoGo Riot) will be outside while the burlesque gals will take over the indoor on the stage.
