Restaurant News — Bucktown On The Ropes

Sad to report that The Grange on Broadway and Siena on Federal Hill will not be reopening. From ProJo’s Gail Ciampa,

The Grange, the plant-based and certified kosher restaurant, shut down last summer, announcing a pause due to staffing issues. Now the owners have confirmed its permanent closure.

Not only was the food fantastic — this carnivore was always happy there — but the Kyla Coburn interior was a masterclass in repurposing architectural salvage. Brewed Awakenings downtown will also be closing.

And now Bucktown Chicken & Fish on West Fountain Street is sending out an SOS. I love this place but I can’t really recommend anything besides the chicken, corn bread, and waffle fries that I get every time I go there.

Coincidentally, Ciampa had just profiled Shawn Gilheeney in “The man behind RI’s  handmade restaurant signs and murals.” He executed Bucktown’s ‘Enjoy Grapette’ wall.
