Prov Parking Ban

(1.28) You have to think that Saturday Night Live will be a little different this weekend. For one thing, the cast will probably be packing their overnight bags for a sleepover with Willem Dafoe and Katy Perry! Will Pete have a new girlfriend by Sunday? Will Colin and Scarlett’s love nest be wiped off the map?  Stay tuned.

Meanwhile our Mayor has issued some advisories for city residents including the all important parking ban info:

Due to expected snow Friday evening and Saturday, there will be a citywide parking ban beginning at 2:00AM on Saturday, January 29, which will remain in effect until further notice.

So you still have plenty of time to go to your neighborhood bookstore and buy a bunch of books. They don’t need electricity. And all your local small business owners will be taking a hit this weekend — make up for it somehow, either before or after the storm. What about overnight parking?

Residents with overnight parking passes are advised that they cannot park on the street during the duration of the citywide parking ban. All vehicles parked on the street in violation of the citywide parking ban will be ticketed and towed to ensure that roadways can be plowed.

Of course the Weather Channel’s naming of every little atmospheric disturbance jumped the shark long ago — I think they named a cold front the other day — but Kenan?

This is going to be a big storm. Keep up with local coverage at WPRI or wherever. The local stations are usually a good source for cancellations. (I may be going out on a limb here, but your thing tomorrow? It’s been canceled.)
