(2.13) Meat-free donuts! This I can get behind. I pulled up the RI VegFest website to write about this upcoming two-day event at the Waterfire Arts Center only to see: “VIP and general admissions tickets have sold out.” But procrastinating vegans, vegetarians, and the merely “plant curious” should not despair: “Late entry tickets are now available.” Late entry will be 2:30pm to 5pm both days. Go here to purchase tickets. From the organizers,
RI VegFest is Rhode Island’s first ever vegan festival, held annually indoors at the beautiful WaterFire Arts Center in Providence.
Our inaugural RI VegFest . . . sold out FAR in advance. Because of your overwhelming support, we’ve added a second day so that we can open up more tickets and entrance times for our event in February 2022.
Should you get in, you will be greeted by 85+ vendors of plant-based vegan items. Go here for a list of the 2022 vendors and sponsors. Look for baked goods, cruelty-free apparel and cosmetics, jewelry, candles, and artwork. Wash it all down with beer, coffee, kombucha, iced tea, and advocates providing information about why you should go meat-free. (Animal rights, the environment, and improved health are the biggies.)
The image seen here (The Donut Shack maybe?) was grabbed from the 2020 RI VegFest photo gallery (all shot by CarlyRae Photo who’s a vegan too). Scrolling through will give you an idea of what to expect, although seeing what life was still like just two years ago is heartbreaking. The place is packed with smiling people . . . hugging, eating, drinking . . . being happy. Let’s get happy again. (Beer is vegan.)
