(3.9) Narragansett Brewery made history last year when, upon its Rhode Island homecoming, it named Lee Lord as its first female head brewer. Lord stated at the time, “I’m beyond thrilled to join Narragansett and help reestablish the brand’s Rhode Island brewing tradition here in Providence.”
From the ProJo:
Her career began in 2010 at Watch City in Waltham, Massachusetts, followed by Smuttynose Brewing Co. in Hampton, New Hampshire. She was most recently head brewer at Cambridge Brewing Co. in Boston.
In honor of International Women’s Day (yes, a day late, they are closed on Tuesdays), this Wednesday Narragansett Brewery will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of its Double Pockets DIPA to the Pink Boots Society scholarship fund, “created to empower women beer professionals to advance their careers in the beer industry through education.”
Upcoming events at Tockwotton: March 19, St. Pat’s; April 9, Anniversary Party.
Lord is currently out of town or I would have made her pose for this picture.
