(4.9) The Jewelry District Association (JDA) is calling for volunteers who aren’t afraid to get their hands a little dirty in service to neighborhood beautification and climate change mitigation. (Help naturalist Jane Goodall reach her goal of planting a trillion trees by 2030.) Trees give us oxygen, stabilize the soil, provide shade, and store CO₂.
“Greening the Jewelry District” is a joint JDA effort with the City and PNPP*. Our efforts have resulted in greater than 60 trees planted in the District. The City prepares the site for each tree, PNPP provides the trees and the JDA provides the labor.
Organizers will supply rakes, shovels, gloves, trash bags, drinks and snacks. Lift with your legs.
