Al Fresco On The Hill

This is either a heads-up or a traffic advisory, just be advised that Atwells Avenue will be closed to traffic, Friday and Saturday evenings, all summer* for ‘Al Fresco on the Hill.’ Over 30 restaurants will be spreading out and taking over. WPRI reports:

Every Friday and Saturday until Oct. 1, the city will close a portion of Atwells Avenue to traffic from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. and will only be canceled in the event of sustained heavy rain.

The Federal Hill Commerce Association has a list of participating restaurants and street closure details:

From Bradford Street to Dean Street along Atwells Avenue will be OPEN to vehicle traffic each night. Participating restaurants in this section will have parklets set up on the Avenue directly in front of their doors. From Dean Street to Lily Street along Atwells Avenue will be CLOSED to all vehicle traffic from 3:30 pm – 2:30 am.

With the weather warming up, this will be quite the scene.

*June 17-19 will be the the annual summer festival — no al fresco setup that weekend.

Al Fresco on the Hill runs through October 1, 5pm to midnight, Fridays & Saturdays, Atwells Avenue, (directions)
