The call has gone out from WaterFire seeking performers, artists, and musicians to perform on the Steeple Street Stage during this season’s full lightings. Those who are interested can start by filling out the performer inquiry form on the website.
This announcement has generated dozens of questions on the WaterFire FB page including the subject of pay:
Yes, they are paying gigs. Depending on the event and our sponsorship situation the length of performances, numbers of performers, and general production value of each night can vary significantly. So the main goal with this outreach is to meet and be in contact with as many performers as possible so we can find people who will fit with different opportunities both downtown and at the WaterFire Arts Center. Some nights we might have a $500 budget and others we might have $5,000.
The first full lighting this season takes place on Saturday, June 4.
