Machines With Magnets will be hosting the Steel Yard’s annual Resident Artist Exhibition, opening this Saturday with a reception from 6pm to 9pm. The curated exhibit will include twelve artist residents, all of whom have participated in the Steel Yard residency program over the past twelve months. The show runs through August 13th.
Each piece represents unexpected mediums, demonstrating a historic process through a contemporary lens. These include metals, light metals, ceramics, and foundry, all crafted in The Steel Yard’s historic 12,000 square foot studio over this past year. The artists themselves have widely varying backgrounds.
The exhibition will include original works by Harry Cassell, Minoo Emami, Elsa Hoffman, Haley Johnson, Maxime Lefebvre, Margeaux Lim, Margaret Parsons, Michelle Peterson, Henry Robinson, Emily Rye, and Lindsay Weitzman.
The event is free, but you can register here.
(Don’t forget the Steel Yard First Saturday Art Markets earlier in the day, on Sims Avenue from 10am to 3pm.)
