The wait is over. Anyone craving a taste of modern southern cooking can now head to Honeybird, the converted gas station just over the Henderson Bridge in East Providence. For now, they are serving dinner four evenings a week. According to their Instagram, “The bird has landed! Limited seating, hours + takeout for this week but we are officially open!” Gail Ciampa got us all excited well over a year ago:
Fried chicken, baked oysters and catfish sliders will be on the menu when Tracy and Nick Rabar open their new East Providence restaurant . . . Honeybird Kitchen and Cocktails will specialize in modern Southern cuisine. . .
Craft beers, signature cocktails and a small wine list will be on the menu with their versions of fried chicken, think Nashville Hot Honey Fried Chicken, oysters and heritage pork.
The Rabars currently own and operate Avenue N in Rumford, the Pantry at Avenue N and Avenue N Providence.
Honeybird hours — Wednesday & Thursday: 4pm to 9pm/ Friday & Saturday: 4pm to 10pm.
