(9.18) The third annual African Film and Arts Festival runs for five days, from September 14 to 18, featuring contemporary films and filmmakers from Africa and the African Diaspora as well as traditional African music and dance performances.
Five days, five venues: Wednesday at the Temple to Music, Thursday at the Innovation District Park, and Friday at the Columbus Theatre. The evenings start with Ancestral Music Tributes with different artists, followed by film screenings. And, an after party on Friday at the Courtland Club. On Saturday, September 17, head over to the Southside Cultural Center on Broad Street where events are running concurrently throughout the day and evening: a youth multimedia workshop, a cultural celebration market; live music; film screenings.
On Sunday, September 18, head over to Farm Fresh on Sims Avenue, at 5pm and shop the culture market featuring BIPOC vendors and food with Swahili Catering. And more live music and a film screening.
