The Mausoleum Hill Sessions At NBG

(10.16) The North Burial Ground is becoming quite the scene. Head over this Sunday when local musicians, Stev Delmonico, Vudu Sister, and Dave Alves team up for a perfect October happening at the Mausoleum Hill Sessions. Immerse yourself in history, culture, and ambiance, listening to original music as the sun sets.

Bring your own picnic, park on North Main Street, and as you enter through the Rochambeau Gate you’ll be guided by a candle lit pathway straight to Mausoleum Hill which sits at the highest point of the burial ground.

You’ll enjoy music by Stev Delmonico, Vudu Sister & Dave Alves as you take in the sunset and sit around some of the founders of Providence gently lit by ferrowatt bulbs from our performance area.

People used to spend leisure time in cemeteries all the time, enjoying the trees and fresh air. The North Burial Ground “kept up with the trends and in the mid-nineteenth century the Rural Cemetery Movement saw cemeteries landscaped into walking parks with elaborate planting, winding pathways, and features like the Receiving Tomb and Marble Staircase entrance.”

Buy tickets here. Park on North Main Street at Rochambeau Avenue.

$15, 5pm to 8pm, Sunday, October 16, NBG, Rochambeau Gate, (directions)
