Downtown Neighborhood Assn — River Cleanup

(4.21) The Providence Downtown Neighborhood Association invites the public to join them in an Earth Day clean-up along the Providence River this Friday morning. You don’t have to do the whole four hours; do what you can.

Our first volunteer project of 2023 will be an Earth Day Clean-Up on Friday, April 21st, from 8am to 12pm. This year, we are joining forces with our friends at the Downtown Improvement District, P3, the Downtown Providence Parks Network and Providence Parks to remove trash and natural debris from Crawford Street to the Point Street Bridge.

Trash crews are open to all ages. Come anytime between 8am and 12pm, and stay as long as you wish. Check in and get your supplies at The Landing at 191 Dyer Street, next door to Capriccio Restaurant.

The Parks Department will provide all trash bags, trash pickers, and gloves. If you are under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must be with you.

(The tide was very high Monday when this photo was taken. The Crawford Street Bridge is on the right in the photo; the arrow points to The Landing across the river.)
