Butter Up Mom With A Little ‘Grease’

(5.17) Celebrate Mother’s Day watching the movie “Grease” on the big screen, and finally hearing the music through a decent sound system. This gem is celebrating its 45th anniversary, so that’s a couple of generations of mothers by now (particularly if you started getting busy in high school like Rizzo). There will be three screenings: two on Sunday, and one next Wednesday.

The kids are cool, the cars are hot, and the tunes are always rockin’ and rollin’ when one of the most beloved comedies of all time comes back to theaters to celebrate its 45th anniversary! Good girl Sandy (Olivia Newton-John) is new to school, but ready to join the Pink Ladies. Bad boy Danny (John Travolta), the leader of the T-Birds, has just discovered their summer lovin’ wasn’t just a passing fling when they’re reunited at Rydell High School.

Based on the Broadway show of the same name, this 1978 classic features John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John, Stockard Channing, and Jeff Conaway, most of whom were way past their teen years (see photo). You can have your Sondheim, these songs are irresistible. Even Vincent Canby, already the New York Times’ resident fogy, gave in to the movie’s charms, calling it “terrific fun.”

Fun fact: The title for this movie in many Spanish-speaking countries is “Vaselina.”

And don’t forget to take Mom to the famous lobby bar. She can bring her drink back to her seat.

Try our Signature Cocktails, Hand-shaken Mojito, Mango Margarita and Ultra-Premium Margaritas. Draft Beer and wine are also available to enjoy during the movie.

Sunday, May 14, 4pm & 7pm.
