Industrial arts for teens. Young people looking for something creative to do this summer, and like getting their hands dirty, should look into the Youth Summer Camp at The Steel Yard. There will be four camps running this summer, three in metals and one in ceramics. Each camp offers educational workshops and studio time in a real working industrial shop for folks ages 14 – 18. Application deadline is June 6.

Camp Sparkle is a 2-week LGBTQ+ youth day camp starting July 10. Learn jewelry and metalsmithing techniques.
BIPOC Camp Metalhead runs 2 weeks, starting July 24. First week small-scale metals, learning jewelry and metalsmithing techniques. Week Two, welding.
Camp Metalhead runs two weeks starting August 7. First week in small-scale metals, learning jewelry and metalsmithing techniques. Week Two, welding.
Camp Mudhead runs one week starting August 7. Learn how to design and make your own pottery. Students in this one-week intensive will explore both hand-building and wheel-throwing processes.
Full scholarships and sliding scale tuition are available for eligible participants.
