PPL Book Sale

(6.13) Book lovers should head downtown this Tuesday for the Providence Public Library Book Sale and snag some excellent secondhand reads. This is just one of the activities planned to celebrate their PPL Give Day, from infant storytime to karaoke to the all-ages open studio. At 5pm check out the Adult Open Studio and learn about laser cutters, 3-D printers, and sewing machines.

About the book sale:

Prices start at just $1 and they’ve got some great deals and promotions to help you fill your shelves sustainably:

  • $5 mystery bags
  • $20 insulated PPL tote bags that you can fill to the brim with as many books as you can fit!
  • Get a FREE book when you show your #PPLGive Day email receipt!
  • AND educators, students, librarians, seniors, and veterans will get 50% off any purchase.

The library will be holding its #PPLGiveDay all day Tuesday. Or go here to donate.

Seen here is the Lego model of the library created by local Lego artist Andrew Grover. The project, like the grand opening of the newly renovated library, was interrupted by the pandemic. The model can be found outside the Farish Auditorium. Here is his story about this commission, initiated in 2019.

Book Sale, noon to 7pm, Tuesday, June 13, Providence Public Library, Grand Hall, 150 Empire Street, (directions)
