RI Pride Events

(6.17) It looks like interest is high in the Pride events scheduled for this weekend as the RI Pride 2023 site was very slow to open, but hang in there. Here are some of the main events:

Wicked Cool Block Party with Idina Menzel, 9pm, Friday, Snow Street, the Dark Lady and Alleycat. Here for tix.

WPRI interviewed Ms. Menzel about her connection to the community. They also have events planned for Saturday night, gates open at 5pm. The scene on Snow Street is off the charts. I always try to stop by.

PrideFest, 11am to 7:30pm, Saturday, June 17,  I-195 District Park (same as last year, directions)

Festival gates at the I-195 District Park open at 11 am with access to over 250 nonprofit organizations, businesses, and food vendors. Venture down to our main stage, providing entertainment for festival-goers all day with a variety of local, regional, and national acts.

Illuminated Night Parade, 8pm, Saturday, downtown

The Illuminated Night Parade begins at approximately 8 pm from Washington and Empire Street traveling northeast toward Dorrance Street. Viewing locations are available on Washington, Dorrance, and Weybosset Street (with a handicap viewing area on Weybosset Street near the Providence Performing Arts Center). Spectators must remain on the sidewalk behind the parade barricades at all times.

Noon to 5pm, Saturday: Need to get out of the fray and set a spell? Head over to the Trinity Beer Garden for the Mini City Thrifty Vintage Market and Pride Celebration.

Shop from over 30 vintage vendors from around New England and have a drink before the Rhode Island Pride Illuminated Night Parade kicks off!

The Illuminated Night Parade is super-entertaining with many locations along the route for viewing, and dancing, and whooping and hollering. Lots of music and glitter.
