Juneteenth Organ Recital, Storytelling — PPAC

(6.19) Head downtown Monday at noon for “From Free to Freedom: A Juneteenth Celebration,” a free lunchtime concert with “songs and stories from a journey that continues.” The event features the estimable Ricardo Pitts-Wiley as the narrator, the JuneteenthRI Choir, storyteller Rachel Briggs, PPAC’s house organist Peter Edwin Krasinski, and a soloist to be announced. This lunchtime concert is free and open to everyone.

This is a special ‘Wonders of the Wurlitzer’ lunchtime concert created in collaboration with Juneteenth RI, Mixed Magic Theatre, and the Rhode Island Black Storytellers.

The performance features PPAC House Organist Peter Edwin Krasinski:

World-renowned organist and silent film accompanist Peter Edwin Krasinski has been PPAC’s House Organist since the fall of 2020. Mr. Krasinski performed a free concert during PPAC’s special 90th Anniversary Celebration in October 2018 and has performed for the Wurlitzer concert series and for other PPAC events.

That organ really packs a punch and Mr. Krasinski loves what he does.

Free, Juneteeth Wonders of the Wurlitzer, noon to 1pm, Monday, June 19, PPAC, 220 Weybosset Street, (directions)
