(8.5) The Blackstone Parks Conservancy holds a variety of interesting events during the year most of which involve sensible shoes. Find a pair by this Saturday and go for A Shoreline Walk with Greg Gerritt.
Come for a walk along the Seekonk [River] shoreline, beginning at the Blackstone Park kiosk on Parkside Road proceeding through the park, along the Seekonk shore and returning to the kiosk. Greg is a noted urban naturalist, environmental advocate, and wildlife videographer . . . Greg will discuss urban wildlife, the making of wildlife videos, and the ecological challenges in the area.
Greg Gerritt was interviewed by Explore RI about his work documenting the Moshassuck watershed. Gerritt created a copious video record for Friends of the Moshassuck. Also see his YouTube channel Mossassuckcritters.
This event is free but donations are welcome. The Conservancy is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation.
Meetup at the kiosk, 9am, Saturday, August 5, Parkside Road at East Orchard, (directions)
