(9.10) Last June a group of musicians and fans organized the first Providence Porchfest and it was a big hit. Participants in that day of self-guided tours all came together at the end of the day on Edgehill Road to enjoy the final performances of the fest. It was hoped by all that the event would return next year, but the porches had their own ideas. As a result, this Sunday, Team Green Porch will take on Team Blue Porch as they vie for the title of Most Musically Porch!

Organizers suggest: Bring friends and family. Bring beverages, picnic baskets, and lawn chairs. Bring any clothing or small household goods you want to give away; we will have a community ‘free table’ set up. (Feel free to take anything on the table home.)
And here is an oddly specific request: “Bring emptied coffee bags! Jen uses them to ship bandanas and is nearly out of them!” This refers to the Ocean Devotion Bandanas, proceeds from which benefit Jen’s Whale Guitar Project and the Healthy Ocean Coalition. They are gorgeous and I hope she intends to have them on sale this Sunday.
The event is free but bring $$$ to throw in the hat for the musicians.
