Fall RISD Craft Show — Benefit Street

(10.7) The fall RISD Craft show takes over Benefit Street between Waterman and Hopkins this Saturday. The show includes the work of both current students and juried alumni, including Jasmine Gutbrod (2020, Furniture Design) who is fabricating digital ceramics, like this loopy orange pot, in a custom built 3D clay printer.

Over 130 artists will be selling handmade fine art and design in categories such as textiles, furniture, glass, illustration, photography, ceramics, and jewelry.

This is the section of Benefit Street between the RISD Museum and Frazier Terrace.

RISD Craft, 10am to 4pm, Saturday, October 7, Benefit Street, (directions)

Also look for the work of Lindsay Quayle (2004, Jewelry Metalsmithing) who builds unique panels using sheet metal, metal leaf, flashing tape, furniture tacks, and an assortment of metal hardware.

Peter Diebenbrock (’84, Industrial Design) is well-known in these parts for his table-top product design, sculpture, and public art, including the iconic Clock Man atop the Foundry. He will be launching a new collection of sculptural objects.

And pick up a few of Dan Freitas’s retro futuristic space-art postcards while you are there. I love these.
