SCLT Opens Food Hub

(10.28) Join the Southside Community Land Trust at their new headquarters and food hub for a Grand Opening Celebration in honor of three new South Side food businesses. The event will feature family friendly activities, produce giveaways, free samples, arts and crafts, live music, as well as DJ Ladyruck and DJ Franchise.

Featured businesses: Black Beans PVD, D’s Spot, and Luna’s West African Superstore.

Go here to get an idea of what Black Beans PVD has to offer: Fried chicken sammies, a variety of hot sauces made in-house, and watermelon ice cream have been on their menu in the past. D’s Spot will be giving a certain nearby fried chicken establishment a run for its money with its chicken n’ waffles, etc. Organizers have various enticements on offer:

We have free samples. We have produce giveaways. We have STEM educational toys and games, generously donated by Thames & Kosmos. We have a bounce house. We have face painting from Halo Face Painting. We have beer and wine tastings from Bottles Fine Wine. We have ourselves a block party! See you there.

Free, 1pm to 5pm, Saturday, October 28, SCLT Grand Opening, 404 Broad Street, (directions)
