Rink Opens & Tree Lighting

(12.1) The holiday season kicks off Friday when the Providence Rink begins its winter programming. Guests can enjoy ice skating 10am to 10pm daily through February, weather permitting. Ice bumper cars will be available Monday through Friday, from 4pm to 8pm, and weekends from 10am through 2pm. Bring your own skates or rent a pair onsite.

Also on Friday, the City Hall Tree Lighting program begins at 5:30pm with choir music. Santa arrives at 6pm and the tree gets lit. This will be followed by performances from Alexus Lee and Mary Gipson and the International Soul Brothers.

Biltmore Park becomes a winter wonderland with lit tree wraps, pathway projections, and oversized holiday bulbs at Kennedy Plaza and Weybosset Street gateways. And look for the gigantic Snow Globe.

Grown-ups may want to wander over to the Graduate Hotel for caroling in the lobby and free beverage tastings at Reiner’s.

Friday, December 1, Providence Rink, 2 Kennedy Plaza, (directions)
