(12.2) “Big Trouble in Little Rhody”! The Providence Friars and the URI Rams will be playing for the 133rd time this Saturday at the Amica Mutual Pavilion. PC holds a 76-56 edge in the series, including a 40-23 mark in Providence. Tip off is 7:30pm. You can watch at home on FS1, or you can head down to the Union Station Brewery where they will be releasing a limited-edition beer brewed for the occasion. (It will also be on sale on select concourses at the AMP.)
Seen here is Mike Delehanty, part owner of the USB, who describes “Big Trouble in Little Rhody” as a “German-style Kölsch . . . a clean, crisp, balanced ale with multi-undertones and mild bitterness . . . very similar to a light lager in flavor and drinkability.”
Both the four-packs and the T-shirts will be on sale at the brewery while supplies last. Tallboy 16-ounce cans will be available at bars, restaurants, and liquor stores around the state. Updates on FB.
The artwork was executed by Brian Ralph who graduated from RISD in 1996 with a BFA in Illustration. He was a member of the underground art collective known as Fort Thunder and is the creator of the graphic novel/Netflix show, “Daybreak.”
(Additional note: Friars win, 84-69. Rams held their own for most of it. Good game.)
