Seasonal Sing With Mighty Wurlitzer — PPAC

(12.12) Head down to PPAC this Tuesday for ‘The Snow Must Go On,’ a free community singalong featuring the estimable Peter Krasinski at the controls of the Mighty Wurlitzer. There will be cocoa. Work downtown? Bring your lunch. (Do not sing with your mouth full.)

Ring in the season of snow with the wonderous magic of PPAC’s Mighty Wurlitzer and join in the chorus! A selection of songs of the season and its holidays will raise the roof and our spirits carried on our voices and the 1000 pipes of the Wurlitzer. Bring your colleagues, classmates, and family – and your lunch! We’ll bring the cookies and hot chocolate! This event is free and open to the public.

The celebration will feature a reading  of “Twas the Night Before Christmas” by RI Youth Poetry Ambassadors, Sadie Jackson and Sebastian Connolly.

The PPAC Mighty Wurlitzer was built in 1927 and has five keyboards, twenty-one ranks, and percussion that can produce many orchestral sounds, as well as sound effects that can be utilized when accompanying silent films. I’m pretty sure it can handle sleigh bells.

Free and open to the public, noon to 1pm, Tuesday, December 12, PPAC, 220 Weybosset Street, (directions)
