Everybody Skate

The Providence Rink is open Christmas Eve until 8pm. It will be closed Christmas day. The weather is kind of perfect: cold enough to wear your winter hats and coats without overheating, but not so cold it’s bitter. Skate aids ($10) are a great invention: Penguins are available for children to young teens. Snowmen skate aids are available for teens to adults.

Obey all rules:

  • No cell phone use while ice skating.
  • Skates must be worn at all times while on the ice surface. This applies to all sessions. No shoes are permitted on the ice surface at any time.
  • Do not carry children while on the ice.
  • Be considerate of other skaters and remain in control at all times. No disorderly conduct – no speeding, no weaving, no throwing of objects.
  • Performing figure skating maneuvers during public skating sessions is not permitted.
  • All skaters must clear the ice while it is being resurfaced.
  • Patrons must keep themselves, extremities and all objects outside the rink surface while the Zamboni is resurfacing.
  • Always obey the Skate Guard on duty – they are there for your safety.
  • Always report any hazards or unsafe conditions to the Skate Guard immediately.
  • No food or drink on ice surface or placed on dasher board edge.

Adults $9. Children (12 and under) $6.  Go here for further information on skate, helmet, and skate-assist penguin rentals.

Plan ahead: The rink will be open New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day from 10am to 10pm.
