Exultation — PPAC

(2.27) Head over to PPAC this Tuesday for EXULTATION, an evening of uplift with the Mixed Magic Exult Choir, featuring musicians Ritchee Price, Barbara Bryant, Big Lux, Joshua Pitts-Wiley, and Rachael Warren, under music director Kim Pitts-Wiley. The Exult Choir will perform with their guests in a concert featuring music from Bob Marley and Prince to Bob Dylan, Mahalia Jackson and Aretha Franklin.

From The Mixed Magic Theatre:

The award winning Mixed Magic Exult Choir was founded by veteran actor, playwright and composer Ricardo Pitts-Wiley in 2006 at Mixed Magic Theatre, the company he formed with his wife, poet, actress, producer Bernadet in 2000. Created to preserve traditional gospel music and to demonstrate its impact on all kinds of music and cultures throughout the world, the Exult Choir’s themed concerts feature a variety of musical styles from hymns and spirituals to hip-hop, R&B to classic, and soul to jazz , world music to contemporary , and reworks of blues, rock and pop.

Children under six not permitted. The show runs approximately one hour and 45 minutes, including an intermission.

I attended the Juneteenth celebration last summer at PPAC and the music was fabulous.

$20 to $60, EXULTATION, 7pm, Tuesday, February 27, PPAC, 220 Weybosset Street, (directions)
