John Waters — Columbus Theatre

(4.20) Head over to the Columbus Theatre this Saturday for John Waters: Devils Advocate which will also serve as his 78th birthday party! And he is not slowing down one bit; in fact, he will soon be directing his first movie in 20 years, “Liarmouth,” featuring none other than Aubrey Plaza . . . it had to happen. Waters is still working on the financing, but with her name now attached to the project, money should not be a problem. From IndieWire:

Waters will write and direct the “feel-bad romance” adapted from his novel of the same name. “Liarmouth” will be Waters’ first film since 2004’s “A Dirty Shame.” Plaza is set to play con artist Marsha Sprinkle, who is described as “a suitcase thief, scammer, and master of disguise. Dogs and children hate her. Her own family wants her dead.”

When Plaza first heard about plans for the the movie, she begged for an audition.

Ages 18 and over. Reserved seating. VIP section sold out. Tickets $40-$50.
