Riesman At Lovecraft Arts & Sciences

(4.20) There may have been a new chapter in the unsavory life of Vince McMahon since Abraham Josephine Riesman wrote the definitive biography, “Ringmaster: Vince McMahon and the Unmaking of America.” It seems possible that Josie will address this update at the Arcade Asylum Author series this Saturday at the Lovecraft Arts and Sciences Council downtown. (That book was named one of the Best Books of 2023 by The New Yorker.)

McMahon need not be the only topic on Saturday: Riesman has appeared in the New York Times, the Washington Post, Vice, New York Magazine, and the Boston Globe, and also penned “True Believer: The Rise and Fall of Stan Lee.” She keeps these ‘meet the author’ events quite lively; you will have a great time no matter who or what is being discussed.

For this very special Arcade Asylum Author Series event, spend your 4/20 hearing about the complexities of fandom research and beyond, with acclaimed journalist and author, Abraham Josephine Riesman, the author of “True Believer: The Rise and Fall of Stan Lee” and “Ringmaster: Vince McMahon and the Unmaking of America.”

(This event is at the end of the Arcade closer to the Westminster Street side, but both ends are open.)

An Evening With Josie Riesman, 6:30pm to 8pm, Saturday, April 20, Lovecraft A&SC, Arcade, 65 Weybosset Street (directions)

While devoted to all-things-Lovecraft, the store carries many other authors in the weird, fantasy, sci-fi, and horror categories. Lots of fun merch too.
