Providence/Newport Ferry Starts Friday

The Newport/Bristol/Providence ferry kicks off the summer season this Friday, June 21.

Take a round trip ride on the bay just for fun, or show your out-of-town friends around Newport for the day and avoid the traffic. You can sit up top for the sun and breeze (it can be kind of windy) or go below for drinks and snacks and just gaze out the windows.

Free parking on-site at the Providence ferry terminal. Complimentary shuttle bus service between the Providence train station, convention center, downtown, and the Providence to Newport ferry terminal.

Tickets for the 2024 season are now available. One-way to Newport is $12, with discounts for kids, seniors, and people with disabilities. Infants 2-and-under ride for free. Go here for fares.

Bristol: It appears that the ferry stops at Bristol on weekends only (and July 4th). The dock is on Thames Street at the foot of State Street.

Newport: Head down to Newport and see the sights or head over to First Beach on the free hop-on-hop-off trolley. Free! Running now and through the end of October.
