Early Opening For Splash Parks

Due to the extreme heat conditions arriving today, June 18, and remaining through Friday, Mayor Smiley has announced that the city splashpads and water parks will open two weeks early. Wednesday is a state holiday so there is no school, hence the extended hours. Below is the upcoming schedule for splashing:

4pm to 7pm, Tuesday, June 18

Noon to 7pm, Wednesday, Juneteenth

4pm to 7pm, Thursday, June 20

4pm to 7pm, Friday, June 21

Go to the Mayor’s announcement for a list of all Providence water park and splashpad locations. Seen here is the Fox Point water park on Wickenden Street.

There is also information on the cooling centers being opened in community libraries. (Only two of the libraries will be open on Wednesday.)
