Graphic artist Shep Fairey (BFA Illustration, ’92) has created a new poster for the Kamala Harris campaign, making it available for personal, non-commercial use. The download is available at his Obey Giant website along with this message:
I believe VP Kamala Harris and her VP pick Tim Walz are our best chance to move forward. They are our best chance to push back on encroaching fascism and threats to democracy, and our best chance for creating the world we all desire and deserve. Politics is messy… but messy is no excuse for checking out. Messy is the work and the work can be joyful. Messy is what it takes to get through the daunting mess in pursuit of a better future. But we only win if we show up. Be ready for Nov. 5. Check your voter registration status now.

Fairey created the “Andre the Giant Has a Posse” sticker campaign in 1989 while at RISD. This later morphed into the whole “Obey Giant” thing, and I don’t know whether Andre the Giant has a posse or Shep Fairey has a posse, but someone has been refreshing these stickers for decades! Who does this?

Yeah great, another candidate whose best attribute is a nice poster. Let’s all remember where 8 years of “Hope” got us (reminder: bad economy, poorer race relations, the largest social service agency in history).
Maybe NEXT time we will get two candidates who have solutions to the issues. Then again in 4 years we could be in a massive Depression or world war (no matter which one of these losers wins). But in the meantime, enjoy the poster…
