Since opening two months ago (in the middle of winter!) Big Feeling Ice Cream on Westminster Street has been serving up unique flavors of ice cream and sorbet, with vegan options always available. I don’t know what London Fog tastes like, but I do know that people on Reddit have been raving about the Mango Sticky Rice, the Thai Tea, as well as the Vanilla.
Owner Alex Maddalena was behind the counter yesterday taking care of the after-school crowd whose cheerful energy created something of a ‘Happy Days’ vibe that felt very good. (It was a little too busy for me to start asking for samples. I’ll go back.) The flavors rotate weekly, and pints are always for sale from the fridge in back.
Pints are also for sale at Stock Culinary Goods and Fox Point Grocers, both on Hope Street. Customized flavors are available at Ceremony Tea on Brook Street where they sell tea-infused pints using some of their matcha and hojicha “to create a close simulacrum of their delicious lattes.”
So this one block on Westminster is now one-stop shopping for people who are currently eating their way through their way-too-big-please-make-it-stop feelings. For your entrée, enjoy the best pizza in town at Nice Slice, and then just roll next door to Big Feeling for dessert.
