Certain Shades of Grey @ FHXIII

Certain Shades of GreyFrom November 1st til November 30th 2008, Firehouse No.13 in Providence RI will host a 2D black and white Exhibition featuring six talented artists from Rhode Island College. The exhibition shows a unique perspective into the minds of young artists of today.
Eric Hoffman, a recent graduate of Rhode Island College, explores the world of engraving with a gorgeous sense of line while Julian Robinson’s background in Comic Books becomes molded into the Fine Art realm.
Tossed into the mix are a duo of Lithographic photo-realists. Lindsey Beaudreau’s polite, yet in your face self portraits compliment the cryptic work of John McCaughey who’s work borders thin line between graphic and realism.
Crandon Whitsitt Lynch’s obsessively complex designs draw you into a world of lines and patterns that contort the mind.
The woodcut prints of Darrel Perkins show a deep understanding of composistional organization while his other work gives off a very graphic street art-like feeling.

The Opening reception for the show is on Saturday November 8th and the exhibition will run through to November 30th.
