Unknown who posted this sign but its proximity to Olympic Records on Wickenden Street is very suspicious. Today is Record Store Day — the date got moved up this year having been bumped by Easter. Not all stores participate in the special RSD releases but you can still go shop. So head over to Olympic Records and say hi to Kevin.
One Providence store that is definitely participating is Analog Records on Broadway. They remind customers of the conditions that make RSD like Christmas morning . . . and a bit of a headache for store owners.
We ordered most of the exclusive titles but will not know what we are getting until much closer to the date. Some titles will be very allocated, meaning even we ordered a ton, we may only get a few.
Analog opened at 8am this morning and I’m sure that was a scene, but stay tuned. They issue this invitation:

I happened in on Analog late one Friday afternoon where something like a party was developing. This is apparently common on Fridays.
We visited Olympic Records during the Summer Olympics and found that Kevin was not leveraging that to his advantage at all. Unknown whether he is participating in RSD. Just go buy stuff.
