This wasn’t a well-kept secret, among those who care about such things, but at last night’s Drinking Liberally, Brian Hull was formally introduced as the new proprietor of RIFuture. Brian’s a photographer by trade and has been active in progressive politics for a while, particularly with the Progressive Democrats of America, as deputy director of the RI Chapter. Congrats!!!
While the writing staff will largely be the same, soon, there will be a complete overhaul of the website. I’m working closely with Ben Jones and Alex Moore of Left Brian on the new site design, format, and new features. RI Future will function largely in the same way as it does now, but registered users will soon be able to better customize their user profiles, enabling them to add images and avatars to their posts, have links to their own websites, and include other pertinent information such as their twitter feed, Facebook profile, etc. to their own user page.
I hope to continue building the blogging community of RI Future and will be adding a mechanism which will automatically promote posts to the front page of the blog if it receives enough recommendations from multiple users.
